I received a letter from California telling me to file a state return for 2018 in the next two weeks. Well that’s very interesting since I’ve never lived or worked in California. I haven’t received a request to file a return in Indiana, a state I did once live and work in. I haven’t received a request to file a return for New York or Ohio or any other state. Next year will I need to file a return with all 50 states?
As I write this, I’m on hold with the California Franchise Tax Board. The wait time is more than three hours.
